Compliant Country

To achieve EITI Compliant status a country must complete an EITI Validation. Validation is an essential element of the EITI global standard. It provides an independent assessment of the progress achieved and identifies what measures are needed to strengthen the EITI process. The Validation is carried out by an independent Validator selected by the national multi-stakeholder group, using the methodology set out in the EITI Validation Guide.

If the EITI International Board considers a country to have met all the EITI requirements, the country will be recognised as EITI Compliant.

Below you will find listed the countries that have completed a Validation and been accepted as EITI Compliant. All the Candidate countries will have to complete a Validation within two and a half years of being accepted as a Candidate country. Countries will have planned and budgeted for Validation in their work plan.

For information about the EITI Validation, please consult the EITI Rules, or contact Sam Bartlett at the EITI Secretariat.
