In accordance with the EITI Standard (Section 4, Articles 6 and 7), implementing countries may apply for an extension to their Validation deadline or to request early Validation. The Board will consider such requests on a case-by-case basis. The tests applied when assessing extension requests are outlined in Article 7. These include MSG approval, submission of the request ahead of the commencement of Validation, and evidence of exceptional circumstances.
