Anna Herbert de la Portbarré

Language coordinator

Nationality: French and Swedish

Anna is a trained conference interpreter in charge of ensuring the coherent implementation of the EITI’s language policy, making sure that all EITI Board members and stakeholders have access to relevant documents in one of the EITI’s working languages. She also works with the administrative team to coordinate interpretation at EITI Board meetings, conferences and trainings.

Prior to joining the EITI in 2014, Anna was based in Brussels where she worked as a free-lance translator and interpreter with European institutions for 10 years. She is still active there, but is now based in Oslo.

Being a language coordinator at the EITI allows her to use her experience to promote issues that are close to her heart: the possibility for everyone to use their mother tongue in an international organisation and better cross-border communication. Her personal interests include sailing, hiking and swimming.
