Dr Sören DENGG
Dr. Sören Dengg assumed the position of Head of Division “Energy, Infrastructure, Raw Materials” within the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany in June 2016. Before he served as Head of Division “Worldbank, IMF, Debt Relief” from December 2012 to May 2016 and as head of Division “Coherence, Cooperation within Federal Government” from June 2012 onwards.
Dr. Sören Dengg has also over ten years of experience working for German industry as Vice-President “Government Affairs” Deutsche Post DHL. Before joining Deutsche Post DHL in 2001 he worked almost nine years on European integration and bilateral relations to European States in the Federal Chancellery of Germany, from 1999 on as Head of Division “European Union”. He started as career diplomat with the Foreign Office in 1986 and served after his formation from 1988 to 1991 as Personal Aide to Minister of State Helmut Schäfer. 1991/1992 he was posted as Secretary to the political division of German Embassy London.
Dr. Sören Dengg holds an M.A. in History, Political Science and Philosophy and a Doctorate in Modern History from University of Cologne. He is married and father of one son.
