EITI responsibilities: Communications Director, including implementation of the EITI’s positioning and communications strategy, oversight of the organisation's communications channels and publications, media relations and promoting the use of open data.
Marianne has over 18 years of combined experience in media, communications and investor relations. She came to the EITI International Secretariat in 2018 from the position of Director of Global Engagement and Communications at EAT, an Oslo-based NGO. Prior to this she worked five years as Director of Investor Relations at Aker ASA, an industrial investment company specialised in E&P and oilfield services. Her earlier professional experience includes working at the World Bank on social protection, public sector reform and communications, and close to a decade in journalism, lastly as bureau chief for Bloomberg News. Her reporting focused on energy producers, oil services and the commodities markets.
Marianne holds a B.A. in European Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a diploma in International Relations from Sciences Po Paris and a M.A. in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins University – Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she was a Fulbright Scholar.
