Mr Carlos ARANDA
Mr Aranda is the Manager of Technical Services of the Southern Peru Copper Corporation. He is also President and Director of the Institute for Energy and Mining Studies– IDEM and vice-president of the Cooperation Council, Tourism and Environmental Protection Directorate of the National Police of Peru.
Carlos Aranda has been actively involved in Peru’s EITI Multi-stakeholder Group (also known as Multisector Permanent Committee for the Oversight and Monitoring of the Transparency in the use of Resources Obtained by the State from the Development of Mining and Hydrocarbon Extractive Industries) since 2005. He is also an advisor on environmental and mining matters to the Peruvian delegation before the International Maritime Organization – IMO (2013 to date).
Mr. Aranda was a member of the multi-sector technical group commissioned by the Government to draft the law that created the Ministry of the Environment. (2007 – 2008).
He holds a MSc degree in Biology, from the University of Puerto Rico, majoring in Aquatic Ecology.
