Jean-François Lassalle

Senior Adviser to the President E&P at Total

Jean-François Lassalle is Senior Adviser to the President EP of Total. In his former position as Vice President Public Affairs - France and NGO, he was a key player in relationship with the French Administration and Parliament as well as with civil society, and in reputation issues such as those related to the Group’s presence in complex environment. He also deals with all Corporate Social Responsibility issues, amongst which the EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative) where he continues to represent the French oil company.

In his previous experience, Jean-François has developed a good understanding of development issues, in particular in sub-Saharan as well as in North Africa where he had several managerial positions between 1990 and 2002. At that time, he was the representative of Elf at the Board of the French Investors’ Committee for Africa (CIAN).

His former position as an all contract negotiator for 6 years allowed him awareness of governments’ expectations regarding the impact of hydrocarbons resources on their countries’ development.

Jean-François holds Masters degree in Law from the University of Paris V and a diploma from the Political Sciences Institute.
