Mark Pearson is the Director General of the Planning, Delivery and Results Branch of Natural Resources Canada.

With 20 years of executive-level experience in the public sector, Mark has built consensus with domestic and international stakeholders on resource transparency, regulatory governance, intergovernmental affairs, international strategies and agreements, sustainable development, and corporate social responsibility.

As Canada’s lead for the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act, Mark worked closely with oil, gas and mining companies and associations, Indigenous leaders, civil society, and domestic and international governments to develop policy, legislation and reporting tools - for which he and his team received the National Public Service Award for Excellence in Policy in 2015.
