Shemshat leads the management of the 2019 EITI Global Conference. She also works on project activity fundraising and reporting to donors, as well on liaising with companies and financial institutions. Together with colleagues, Shemshat participates in defining the scope of project activities and guides regional teams on budget and reporting of training events.
Prior to joining the EITI, Shemshat worked in the forestry industry in Turkmenistan, for the American University Central Asia in the Kyrgyz Republic and for the the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) in Norway.
Shemshat holds a B.A. in International Relations and Comparative Politics from the American University Central Asia (Kyrgyz Republic) and a M.A. in Political Science from the OSCE Academy (Kyrgyz Republic). Under the aegis of NUPI, Shemshat conducted rigorous research on developing countries.
