EITI responsibilities: Manage the 2019 EITI Global Conference.
Shemshat also participates in defining scope of project activities and guide regional teams on budget and reporting from training events. She leads on fundraising for project activities and its reporting to donors. Shemshat also leads on EITI's relationship with Company and Financial Institutions.
Work Experience: Shemshat has been with the EITI since 2013, working on various areas from providing support to country teams to later joining the Finance team. Prior to joining the EITI, Shemshat gathered her experience from a variety of institutions which added to her research interests in the role of natural resources in developing countries. In Turkmenistan she worked for the forest industry. After finishing her BA and MA degrees in Kyrgyzstan at the American University Central Asia and the OSCE Academy respectively, she acquired administrative skills at the President's office in AUCA. Work experience in Turkmenistan and training in relevant disciplines at AUCA and OSCE allowed her to apply her interests and skills in rigorous research on developing countries under the aegis of NUPI.
