The EITI’s mission – to promote understanding accountability and transparency in the extractive sector – has never been more relevant. Since 2003, the EITI has set the global standard for extractives governance, with over 50 countries implementing the EITI Standard. In a rapidly evolving energy landscape, with heightened corruption risks and growing stakeholder expectations for sustainable practices, the EITI continues to adapt. Implementation of the EITI Standard empowers resource-rich countries to build resilient economies.
The EITI’s 2024-2028 strategic priorities leverage the EITI Standard and its multi-stakeholder approach. They are designed to guide governments, companies, civil society and donors, ensuring the EITI remains an essential tool for achieving good governance and sustainable development in the extractive sector.
