This report covers the fiscal year 2022/23. It provides contextual information on Tanzania’s mining, oil and natural gas sectors, including recent developments in the sectors. The report covers payments made by extractive and service-providing companies, as well as the revenues received by the government and its agencies for the fiscal year 2022/23. The report also outlines social payments, employment data, production and sales of minerals, oil and gas, operating costs, and local content for the period covered. Furthermore, the report covers information on gender equity, social and environmental monitoring and impact, and artisanal and small-scale mining. The report uses a risk-based approach to reconcile payments of forty-seven (47) out of fifty-eight (58) companies selected for the reconciliation exercise based on a materiality threshold of TZS 2 billion.
