Discussion from different perspectives on the importance of communicating transparency processes related to extractive industry. New trends in open data and the use of modern technology platforms will be presented.
The Forum will be opened by Mr Luis Chang Navarro, Minister of Energy and Mines; and it will close with a press conference at the Intercontinental hotel in Guatemala City.
The EITI will hold a workshop on beneficial ownership for MSG members from Kazakhstan and government officials working on embedding beneficial ownership in legislation; support revising and strengthening a draft beneficial ownership roadmap according to requirement 2.5.b.ii. of the EITI Standard.
In particular, the workshop aims to provide guidance on questions related to definition of beneficial owner, level of details, collection methods and verification procedures.
The EITI is holding a workshop on beneficial ownership for MSG members in Kyrgyz Republic. It will help to revise and strengthen a draft beneficial ownership roadmap according to requirement 2.5.b.ii; support a legal review on beneficial ownership and the completion of the roadmap.
The workshop will also provide guidance on questions related to definition of beneficial owner, level of details, collection methods and verification procedures.
The Anglophone and Lusophone African regional beneficial ownership seminar is 1-3 November. It will involve representatives of national secretariats from up to eleven EITI implementing countries. The main topics will be drafting the beneficial ownership roadmaps, learning from and preparing for validation, mainstreaming and use of data.
The EITI's commodity trading working group meets in London to discuss general updates and developments on reporting practices in EITI countries. Reporting on commodity trading will be piloted in some EITI countries and the meeting will discuss how these efforts can best be supported.

The EITI International Secretariat is organising a regional training for members of the MSG and National Coordinators from Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Ukraine and Tajikistan on 26 and 27 October 2016. The training will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan and will focus on beneficial ownership disclosure in EITI implementing countries.
