Benjamin Boakye

Executive Director, Africa Center for Energy Policy

Benjamin Boakye is an Energy Governance Professional and the Executive Director at the Africa Centre for Energy Policy. With extensive experience in managing research and programmes related to the extractive sector governance in Africa, he has played a significant role in contributing to the evolution of legal frameworks for the effective management of extractive resources. Before his appointment as Executive Director, Benjamin served as the Deputy Executive Director, Programmes Director, and Operations Director, where he managed the Research Unit and Programmes Unit. Ben has extensive experience in power sector reforms, making him a valuable contributor to the energy sector in Africa. As an Energy Governance Professional, Benjamin is interested in supporting African countries to participate in the economics of energy transition. He holds an MSc. in Energy Studies from the University of Dundee, UK, and a BA (Hons.) in Sociology with Information Studies from the University of Ghana.
