HudBay Minerals Inc. is a Canadian mining corporation.
Engagement with the EITI
The company currently has internal processes to report government revenue streams for our entire operations including Peru and will be able to provide the information upon request.
Hudbay’s Peruvian subsidiary, Hudbay Peru SAC, as a member of the Peruvian Mining Society, is fully committed to the EITI process within Peru. Hudbay has not provided direct assistance to date, but would like to become further engaged as part of a company-wide initiative for transparency. Hudbay's Peruvian operations are currently in development and the company has not been asked to provide data.
Hudbay is actively involved in an initiative undertaken by the Resource Revenue Transparency Working Group to provide Canada’s federal and provincial governments with a blueprint for a government payment reporting framework for all publicly-traded mining companies in Canada.
Hudbay will implement Dodd-Frank once the legislation is finalised and has worked to improve its internal reporting process to more accurately capture payments to government.
Hudbay publishes details on payments to governments in its Corporate Social Responsibility Report.
Financial contribution to the international management of the EITI
Hudbay contributed USD 20,000 in 2018.
