Guidance on data timeliness (4.8)

EITI data are most useful and relevant when published regularly. Timely data is essential if the EITI is to contribute to meaningful and informed public debate.

The Standard requires that implementing countries must disclose data no older than the second to last complete accounting period. This is a ‘safeguarding’ requirement meaning that if countries do not met this requirement and cannot demonstrate exceptional circumstances, they will be suspended.
