The EITI is pleased to welcome Centerra Gold as the latest EITI Supporting Company. Centerra Gold is the largest Western-based gold producer in Central Asia. Centerra Gold is based in Toronto, Canada and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The company has producing gold mines in the Kyrgyz Republic and in Mongolia, which both are currently reporting to EITI. Further, it has development and exploration properties in China, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Russia, Turkey and the United States.
In an announcement on its website, the company states that "Centerra has played an active role in promoting the EITI in the Kyrgyz Republic and Mongolia.
