Workshop on Mobilising Revenues for Development

At the invitation of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the European Commission, 90 representatives from 24 partner countries and 9 international organisations participated in the International Tax Compact (ITC) workshop "Joining Forces to Mobilize Domestic Revenues for Development" from 25-26 January 2010 in Brussels.

Francisco Paris from the EITI International Secretariat presented the EITI at the meeting. A conclusion of the meeting was that the EITI is a key tool in helping tax authorities in host countries to avoid practices such as transfer pricing.

More information and the presentations from the workshop are available at the Tax Compact website.
