Jo Cook

Jo is a Data Officer, supporting the EITI International Secretariat’s data team and data strategy.  

Prior to joining the EITI, Jo worked for Astun Technology, a developer of open-source geospatial solutions, where she led the data team. In this role she focused on open data, data management and standards. She has also been involved in the Open Source Geospatial Foundation since its inception, where she founded the UK Local Chapter, and organised international and national conferences. She is also involved in the development of Data and Metadata standards in the UK.  

Jo has a background in Mathematics, but also holds a Masters in Underwater Archaeology. She enjoys speaking at conferences, and seeking opportunities to enable better use of data. Her interests outside of work include rock climbing, scuba diving and running.
