
Melina Ackermann
Junior Officer - Europe
Melina supports EITI implementation in the Europe region. She previously worked on backing the EITI International Secretariat’s assessment of progress in meeting Expectations for EITI Supporting Companies and its energy transition engagement.
Prior to joining the EITI, she contributed to the German Corporation for Development Cooperation’s impact analysis of GIZ’s project portfolio in the extractives sector. Her thematic focus areas at GIZ included the EITI, anti-corruption, human rights and gender in the mining sector. She gained research experience as an overseas consultant at the London School of Economics and Political Science and as a research assistant for the Centre for Science & Security Studies (CSSS).
Melina has a background in international relations and holds a dual master’s degree in International Peace & Security (King’s College London) and Human Rights & Humanitarian Action (Sciences Po Paris). Her interests include reading and painting.
