Mr Sampe L. PURBA
Natural Resource Economics Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia
Sampe L. Purba is an EITI International Board member representing Indonesia and other Southeast Asian implementing countries.
He has 30 years’ experience in private sector as well as government institutions mainly related to audit, finance, and oil and gas business management. Currently he is a Senior Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources on natural resources economy. His main role is to provide strategic advice on natural resource management policy, discuss and help solving issues across the concerned stakeholders. He is also the Head of the Audit Committee in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Mr. Purba has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Bachelor’s degree in Law, and a Master’s degree in Business Law from reputable universities in Indonesia. He also has a Master’s degree in Commerce and Finance from the University of New South Wales, Australia and completed a Doctoral degree in Defense from the Indonesia Defense University concentrating on Energy Policy and Geostrategy.
He has attended seminars, symposiums, and workshops both as participant and speaker, in Indonesia and abroad.
Mr. Purba is also a member of several professional association such as IPA, AIPN, PERADI and IAI.
