Mr Taco WESTERHUIS

Taco is the coordinator of Circular Economy and Commodities policies at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate General for International Cooperation.
From 2013 until July of this year he was posted to the Dutch embassies in Nigeria and Iran as the Economic Counselor, a position where he also dealt with bilateral and commercial relations in the extractive sectors. Before working abroad, Taco held different positions both in the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Taco graduated from the University of Amsterdam, where he studied European Studies and Law, focusing on transatlantic trade and investment relations. He lives in Amsterdam with his wife and daughter. He enjoys music (plays drums) and is an admirer and collector of African contemporary art.
