
Sylvain Marpeau-Roussel
Senior Corporate Engagement Manager
As Senior Corporate Engagement Manager, Sylvain works in close collaboration with leading mining, oil and gas companies across regions to ensure strong commitments to transparency and good governance. He is responsible for coordinating the EITI’s supporting companies’ constituency, driving outreach efforts to expand industry participation and assessing corporate disclosures in line with the Expectations for EITI supporting companies.
Prior to the EITI, Sylvain held external affairs roles in global organisations such as the World Economic Forum, Rio Tinto and the International Finance Corporation. At WEF, he led cross-industry sustainability partnerships with the mining and metals sector, driving initiatives on topics such as responsible sourcing, ESG reporting and net-zero transitions. At Rio Tinto, he managed government relations and communications for large-scale mining project developments, notably in Guinea and Serbia, covering a range of stakeholders including public authorities, local communities, joint venture partners and multilateral institutions.
Sylvain holds an MPA from Columbia University and the London School of Economics and Political Science, and he studied political science, public law and international affairs at Sciences Po Lille and Waseda University. He enjoys discovering cultures through travel, food and history.
