The Board agreed to pause the commencement of Validation until the conclusion of the Netherlands’ strategic review of implementation.

Background

The Netherlands joined the EITI in 2018 and concluded its first Validation in December 2021. The country published its 2024 payments data and published the figures on its data portal. Its next Validation was scheduled to commence on 1 October 2025. The country is undergoing a strategic review of its EITI implementation to inform how EITI complements national priorities and how EITI adds value to ongoing reforms. National stakeholders are prioritising the strategic review, which makes conducting Validation practically challenging. 

The Board will be updated on its progress through the IPR and the Validation Committee briefed on the progress.
