Macro-Statistics for Natural Resources: IMF and EITI Cooperation

This presentation provides an introduction of the collaboration between IMF Statistics Department and EITI Internationals Secretariat.

This Guide to Analyze Natural Resources in the National Accounts (The Guide) presents and explains a set of standard Template Tables using the concepts recommended in the United Nations’ System of National Accounts 2008 (2008 SNA). Economic activity associated with natural resources is macro-critical for about 30 percent of Fund member countries.

This toolkit includes an introductory document which explains what mainstreaming means in practice; it includesa tool for assessing which disclosures are made systematically, and provides some examples of how countries have mainstreamed some aspects of the EITI Standard.
