The EITI International Secretariat will be visiting Tanzania for from 29 -30 November 2017 to discuss the validation results and follow up on validation corrective actions.
The first day of the EITI conference got off to a busy start with nearly 400 participants in attendance. During the 7th EITI International Board meeting held, the Board discussed whether to accept Azerbaijan as the first EITI Compliant country and the approval of Tanzania as a Candidate country.
On 17 November 2009, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Minerals officially inaugurated Tanzania’s EITI Multi-Stakeholder Working Group. The Group consists of five members each from government, companies, and civil society, plus a chairperson, who has yet to be appointed. In its inaugural session, the MSG elected the Commissioner of Minerals as its interim chairman.
