The gold mining company Oxus Gold is the 39th extractive company to become an international-level EITI Supporting Company.
The EITI is pleased to welcome Glencore International plc as the latest EITI Supporting Company. Glencore announced that it has become an EITI Supporting Company in its 2010 Sustainability Report, which was issued on 7 September 2011.

Intierra, the mineral resource intelligence company, has now become an EITI Supporting Company. Intierra is one of the first non-extractive companies to become EITI supporters. In supporting the EITI, Intierra has among other things, introduced a new mapping layer to their mapping service that shows which countries are implementing the EITI standard.
The Iraq Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (IEITI) hosted a seminar for all its oil operators and buyers in Dubai on 6-7 June. Around 20 companies from Asia, Europe, America, and Africa, participated in the seminar which, for many of them, was a first introduction to the EITI process.


On 26 January the Government of Japan hosted the conference “Emerging Trends toward Responsible Natural Resource Development”.
