Background
The renewable energy sector has a critical role to play in global efforts to fight climate change. However, governance challenges and a lack of transparency could hamper the industry’s growth. This Transparency Matters webinar discussed the common governance challenges between the extractives and renewables sectors and shared lessons learned for promoting good governance and transparency. Senior representatives from government, renewable energy companies and civil society also shared concrete examples of policies in countries and companies that are engaged in the renewables sector.
