Board decision

The Board agreed on the criteria and the procedure for assessing Validation extension requests under Part 2, Section 1, Article 7 of the 2023 EITI Standard. The Board tasked the Validation Committee with oversight of Validation extension requests and recommendations to the Board on Validation deadlines, given its responsibilities for the EITI’s quality assurance mechanisms. The Implementation Committee will be given an opportunity to provide input to the International Secretariat’s assessment of the Validation extension request prior to the Validation Committee’s review.
