Gisela Granado

Policy Director

Gisela is the EITI’s Policy Director, overseeing the development, revisions and implementation of the EITI Standard and developing guidance material for practitioners. She leads the policy team that spearheads the EITI’s work on energy transition, state-owned enterprises and commodity trading transparency, and gender, social and environmental impact.

Gisela supports the Implementation Committee of the EITI Board, which oversees policy and implementation developments and progress in the EITI implementing countries. She is also a member of the Secretariat’s senior management team.

Gisela was previously Regional Director for Francophone Africa, responsible for oversight of EITI implementation across the 14 implementing countries in Francophone West and Central Africa. She joined the team at the EITI International Secretariat in May 2014, having worked at the Trinidad and Tobago EITI National Secretariat in the previous two years.

Gisela pursued an LLM. in Energy and Natural Resources Law at Queen Mary University of London in 2018. She also read for a double Masters degree in International Development Economics at the Sorbonne I University and the Paris School of Economics in 2008.
