EITI Standard 2023

The EITI Standard outlines the requirements applicable to countries implementing the EITI as well as the Articles of Association governing the EITI.

The EITI Standard is the global benchmark for transparency and accountability in the oil, gas, and mining sectors.

As a framework for disclosure and multi-stakeholder oversight, the EITI Standard is designed to empower governments, industry and civil society to promote understanding of natural resource management; strengthen public and corporate governance and accountability; and provide the data to inform policymaking and debate.

2023 EITI Standard: Summary of changes

The amended EITI Standard includes several new and refined provisions that enable countries to respond to the most pressing challenges that concern natural resource governance. It strengthens EITI disclosures and governance requirements to improve understanding of the impact of the energy transition, address corruption risks, promote gender equity and strengthen revenue collection.
