Marie Gay Alessandra Ordenes

Marie Gay Alessandra leads the EITI International Secretariat’s technical work, including on Validation, open data, systematic disclosure of EITI data. She also leads the EITI’s work on anti-corruption, namely on beneficial ownership and contract transparency. She was previously Asia Director.

Prior to joining the International Secretariat, Gay was the National Coordinator of Philippine EITI. She also worked for the Philippine government in various positions in the executive branch and the judiciary as a lawyer. She has expertise in public policy, anti-corruption and extractive sector governance.  

Gay earned her LL.B and B.A. in Political Science from the University of the Philippines. Outside of work, her interests include long road trips, spiritual retreats, chess, gardening and table tennis.
