Marie Gay Alessandra Ordenes
Gay leads the EITI’s implementation support work in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific and oversees implementation in Central Asia. Her policy work includes taking the lead on contract transparency and providing support on beneficial ownership and anti-corruption. She is also the lead on capacity development for implementing countries.
Prior to joining the Secretariat, she was the National Coordinator of Philippine EITI. She is a lawyer by profession with expertise in public policy, anticorruption and extractive sector governance. She has extensive public service experience from the Philippines, having worked as a technical and legal adviser for the Office of the President and as an appellate court attorney.
Gay earned her LL.B and B.A. in Political Science from the University of the Philippines. Outside of work, her interests include long road trips, spiritual retreats, chess, gardening and table tennis.
