The Board mandates the Validation Committee to take over the responsibility of overseeing Targeted Assessments and Validation extension requests

The Board mandates the Validation Committee to take over responsibility from the Implementation Committee for overseeing Targeted Assessments in accordance with Part 2, Section 1, Article 8 of the 2023 EITI Standard and for processing requests for extensions to Validation deadlines in accordance with Part 2, Section 1, Article 7 of the 2023 EITI Standard. This decision applies to all Targeted Assessments currently underway, in addition to future Targeted Assessments to be undertaken. Assessments of requests for extensions to Validation deadlines will be shared with the Implementation Committee for input prior to review by the Validation Committee. The Implementation Committee will have the option to discuss assessments of requests for extension to the Validation deadlines, with the Implementation Committee’s input presented to the Validation Committee alongside the Secretariat’s assessment of the extension request.
