Christine Detaille
Head of Unit of Transitional Development and Governance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Belgium
Mrs. Detaille is a senior diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Belgium.
Mrs. Detaille has been with the MFA of Belgium for three decades and served in different capacities and functions at the Belgian Embassies in Tokyo, Bonn and Berlin, at the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the United Nations in New York when Belgium was a non-permanent member of the Security Council, and at the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the European Union.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Detaille served at the Trade Directorate, chairing an Inter-ministerial Coordinating Committee for implementation of EU regulation. She was Head of Unit for the UN General Assembly, assumed the position of Head of Unit for Development Policy and UN organizations, as well as Executive Director and Governor of the Common Fund of Commodities, and was in this regard representing Belgium in several energy and raw material platforms and organizations.
Mrs Detaille holds an M.A. in South East Asian Studies from the University of Hull and an M.A. in International Politics and Governance from the KU Leuven.
She is married and has three children.
