Background

This is a second Validation. On 25 October 2017, the EITI Board found that Tanzania had made meaningful progress in implementing the EITI Standard (see Board decision 2017-53/BM-38). The Board established that progress in addressing 18 corrective actions would be assessed in a second Validation commencing 25 April 2019. The Board approved Tanzania's extension request on 14 November 2019 and agreed that the second Validation would commence on 1 January 2020 (see Board decision 2019-64/BC-281).
