Mining and metals companies

Teck Resources

Teck is a diversified resource company with operations and projects in Canada, the United States, Chile and Peru. The company is committed to responsible mining and mineral development with business units focused on steelmaking coal, copper, zinc and energy. It is also a significant producer of specialty metals such as germanium and indium.

We engage in and support the work being done to fight corruption by supporting international frameworks such as the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). We believe that being transparent in our payments to governments can help communities to understand the economic benefits generated by mining activity and how this is distributed to governments for local, regional, and national economic and social development.

Statement of support

Engagement with the EITI

Teck is an active supporter of the EITI both directly and through its membership with the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM). Peru is the only EITI implementing country where Teck currently has operations and the company has publicly disclosed its payments in accordance with the EITI Standard. Teck also disclosed the data required for the Antamina mine in Peru.

Strengthening transparency

The company provides information about its sustainability performance and payments to governments on its Sustainability Report and Disclosure portal.

In addition to its sustainability report, the company reports under the Canadian Extractive Sector Transparency Measures (ESTMA) Act. The ESTMA reports are available on Teck's public filings archive webpage.

Teck's annual Economic Contribution Report provides additional information on the company's economic contribution. Learn more about Teck's economic contribution reports on Teck's website.
